Understanding the SDP Logo

After the birth of the Socialist Development Party on March 26, 2022, a research team was set out to work towards developing identity structures for the group.

The team principally was to in the immediate term work on a logo, party colours and a motto.

At the end of their first deliberation, a logo as captured below, was agreed on. This write up seeks to give a better understanding of what went into the symbols and the choice of colours.

Symbol explained:

FOUR HANDS: These hands holding each other signify the principle of unity and social cohesion. It buttresses the socialist creed of the society being at the heart of development via collective ownership

Colour choice explained

INDIGO: According to Colour Symbolism Chart, this colour signifies devotion, justice and wisdom - values at the heart of the socialist creed.

WHITE: Signifies safety, illumination and above all purity.

RED: Far from the much thought of 'blood,' red in the case of SDP highlights leadership and willpower.

Motto:

Unity, Strive for Development
